Like a Fish...
Artistically I am like a fish. I flip flop all over the place when it comes to finishing a project. I am so sick of my flopping about. I must be a fish out of water or I would be flowing artistically right about now. Currently, I am excited about how I have returned back to producing "complete" finishes on illustration board rather than the line work that I typically leave open for digital coloring and other enhancements.
It's so freakin' time consuming when you have finished the line work of 15 pages and then have to revisit them digitally for coloring or tonal finishes. It also slows down my writing when I have to do all of that which in turn takes the steam out of my drive to finish the story.
I write as I draw. Sometimes thumb nailing and junk. Thumbnailing seemed to help my writing edge stay on track as I revisited unfinished pages digitally but over time I missed being done with a comic book page on paper. You know like something that I could frame and hang up right after I'm done.
I love Photoshop but I also love the tangible finish that doesn't cost me a pretty penny getting it printed.
Oh bother... I also find myself going in circles when it comes to this story SPiDERS. I thought that it would be necessary to have more characters in the book to support Jamal on his way but now I have a new idea. I swear this time I will not flip flop. The Haiku style of writing and storyboarding details will remain from here on to the finish of the book. *sigh Life bare with me... I'm a late bloomer.
